So recently I’ve been getting the feeling from different sources that the country of China will not be a good neighbor in the future.
First, I have had to completely block the entire country of China (and Korea) from access to several of my web sites due to unauthorized access attempts from Chinese IP addresses. I have tried sending email to the zone contacts for these IP addresses complaining about these access attempts and have gotten no reply. Further investigation in Google revealed that I’m not the only one having this problem.
Second, I chatted on IM recently with a guy in China who wanted me to help him set up an affiliate marketing account with a company in the US. I didn’t help set up this account but during the conversation, I got the distinct feeling that the Chinese people in general look down on America as a country. The guy mentioned that many Chinese people speak english because it’s “easy” to learn and that they don’t need to follow the rules (any rules) because no one is going to come to China to enforce them.
Seeing that this country (USA) has such a large trade gap with China and they seem to manufacture pretty much everything that we buy, I think that they thing that this gives them an advantage overall.
